Well hello there!! How did you enjoy your vacation from having to listen to me gripe about the details of every day life?? I missed you too!
For those who follow me on Facebook or Instagram (Look, I tried the Snapchat thing… I don’t get it!) would know that the last month has been quite jam packed of amazing life events!
After the show was my final ass surgery- Dr. said everything had healed great and looked good… well DUH doc…I squat for this booty of COURSE it looks good! HA!
I was then offered an AMAZING job opportunity in Phoenix, AZ! A Senior level management job, more money, a resort property and you DON’T have to shovel sunshine… so I packed a duffle bag and headed for Phoenix! So far, the job is amazing! It is such a different feeling to actually feel welcome and to feel like people want me to be there. Plus, Hilton is a fantastic company!
Then was the wedding of my beautiful best friend Mrs. Stephanie Dille-Huggins! I flew home to Chicago where Momma Remaly picked me up at the airport and we drove to Mackinac Island, Michigan where the ceremony would take place. I had never been to the Island before but gosh is it freaking STUNNING! Like a made-up Perfectville town where NO cars are allowed and everyone just wants to be by the water and eat Fudge…paradise right? The ceremony was GORGEOUS and Steph looked absolutely stunning. She made it down ONE footstep down the aisle and I was in tears! I know, I know… there is a soft- hopeless romantic down in there somewhere!
We drove back to Indiana (Jess-one of the other bridesmaids) and I where we set up for the reception on Saturday that was at Steph’s grandmothers property in Indiana. It was SO great to see all of my friends from my Ball State days that I don’t get to see very often.
After the wedding wonderland I flew back to Chicago where Marc picked me up at the airport, we packed my car to the MAX and started our drive to Phoenix. Poor Marc was stuck in a car with me…the goddess of gas for two days! He’s still alive so he’s happy about that! We only had TWO situations… one, where I had NO idea where we were but knew I had to pee like…PRONTO, so I had to pull over in some field and just let it rip outside the car door…that brought us to a WHOLE new level of closeness!
Second…. I got a speeding ticket in New Mexico…for going TEN over the speed limit?! WTF?!? was the cop THAT bored? Why couldn’t he just jerk off on the side of the road like all the other troopers??? That reminds me- I have to pay that ticket! DAMN IT!
Once we got to Phoenix, we moved me into my new apartment in Scottsdale, AZ. The one week I was here before flying home for the wedding I made it an obsession to find an apartment WHICH I DID! YAY ME!
and what is even better?! It’s about 4 minutes away from my new gym. This gym is the SHIT! A meathead Disneyland! There is equipment in there that I’ve only ever seen in YouTube Videos! AAAAND it’s NEVER packed! No more fighting off the triplet of manlets who are just texting on their phones in the squat rack.
Being so busy and so many great things going on it has given me a chance to disconnect from Social Media a little bit. I haven’t been sitting and scrolling on Facebook or obsessing on Instagram and you know what? It feels like being on vacation! Instead of watching other people live their lives…I’m living mine. Instead of comparing my progress and achievements with others…I’ve been enjoying my own progress and learning to appreciate my body and transitioning into an “off-season” type lifestyle if you will.
The most popular question I have been asked is, “Will you compete again?” The answer…EFF YEAH! I’ve drank the Kool-Aid people! I’m HOOKED! I have already picked a show and started my plan to get there! I have decided to compete in the WBFF World’s in August 2016 in Las Vegas. The WBFF has a division called the Transformation Division for those who have lost 70+ pounds.
So what’s the goal? Obviously, I have a year to put on some GOOD, DENSE muscle size (which I want pretty much everywhere but in my back especially). My goal is to have the most SHOCKING transformation anyone has ever seen. Of course that is a general and unmeasurable goal since I don’t know everyone who ever lived. BUT it gives me the boost I need to keep pushing myself… I want a shocking before and after transformation…more-so than now.
My training will need to change up a bit since now I’m going to focus on BUILDING instead of cutting but I don’t want to put on added fat so finding a balance between eating the fuel my body needs and keeping my body fat low will be my trial and error project.
My diet will be very similar to my contest prep diet but I have increased my calories to 1,450 for now. I’m eating a lot of chicken, eggs and fish as well as keeping fats high with cashews, almonds, avocado and different oils. Carbs are still very low but are a BIG part of my one cheat meal per week. I also have increased my dark green veggies.
I’m still going to do my progress pictures and check-ins to stay on track. This is the first time where I am ON MY OWN living this lifestyle. The last time I lived by myself I ate my way to 350 pounds… I’m a bit nervous but I know that my mind is in a TOTALLY different place than it was last time. My whole life is different and I have to trust myself.
Below are a few pictures of the current situation… If I can keep my body in this conditioning and body fat during the whole off season… I think that would be PERFECT and wouldn’t require such a drastic prep for the next show
